Moulding butter

Moulding shapes the butter by passing it through a press or extruder. After the churning stage the butter is placed in the hopper of an extruder which forces the butter through a die.

This gives it a distinctive shape such as wafer, fluted or cylindrical.

After extrusion the butter is cut into lengths for packing.
