Press filter for lactic cheeses from 500 to 10 000
The press filter is used for lactic curd known as "pre-drained" curd.
Unlike traditional lactic cheeses, which are moulded and then drained in the moulds, pre-drained lactic curds are first poured directly into cheesecloth bags. In small quantities, the bags are hung or placed in containers to drain. For larger volumes, a filter press can press several bags mechanically and in a controlled manner.
The dry extracts obtained vary from 18 to 45% depending on your criteria.
There are two versions of filters:
- The 500 to 1 200 litre capacity filters:
A pneumatic cylinder, directly attached to the moving plate, when retracted provides lateral access for threading the cheesecloth bags onto the support rail. These filters are frequently used in small dairies or farms with a single operator. The position of the rear door can be adjusted, thus making it possible to adjust the capacity of the filter to improve the pressing process.
- The filters of more than 3 000 litres:
The bags have a greater capacity and the pressing must be perfectly balanced between the traction ropes of the press. The loading and unloading of the suspended bags are done from the front using hooks and castors on a slide. It is advisable to use a transport trolley onto which the bags can slide so that they can be more easily unloaded at the mixing or moulding station.
